Renowned folk musician Bob Dylan sells his Cairngorms mansion, Aultmore House, for over £4 million after 17 years of ownership. The Edwardian mansion, with its historic significance, multiple rooms, baths, and bedrooms, as well as additional features like cottages and gardens, was listed earlier this year. Angus Dundee Distillers, the whisky manufacturer, acquires the property for £4,257,650, adding to its portfolio that includes Glencadam Distillery and Tomintoul Distillery.

Aultmore House, built between 1911 and 1915, holds historical significance and underwent restoration in 2000 before being purchased by Bob Dylan and his brother in 2006. The property, situated on 25 acres, has a storied past, serving as a B&B, finishing school, and hospital during different periods. Dylan's ties to Scotland go beyond the property, with influences from Scottish poet Robert Burns and folklorist Hamish Henderson.

The sale of Aultmore House reflects the market's interest in historic properties. Angus Dundee Distillers, known for its whisky ventures, secures the property with plans for its future use. Dylan, recognized for his contributions to music, received an honorary doctorate in music from the University of St Andrews in 2004, showcasing his enduring connection to Scotland.
